Chicken Nuggets Recipe
Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for homemade chicken nuggets:
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 1-2 inches each.
- Set Up Breading Station:
- In the first bowl, place the flour.
- In the second bowl, beat the eggs.
- In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Bread the Chicken:
- Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Roll the egg-coated chicken pieces in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Fry the Nuggets:
- In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; it should sizzle and turn golden brown in about 1 minute.
- Carefully place the breaded chicken pieces into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.
- Fry the nuggets for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Drain and Serve:
- Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the nuggets from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the chicken nuggets hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Tips:
- For a healthier version, you can bake the nuggets in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through.
- You can also try using different seasonings or add grated Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
Enjoy your homemade chicken nuggets!
