Spicy Chana Masala Delight

Chana Masala

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas (or 1 can, drained and rinsed)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.
  • Add the finely chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
  1. Add Aromatics and Spices:
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and oil starts to separate.

  • Let it simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
